The Trust targets small to medium-sized charities operating primarily in England and Wales. It funds both project costs and core costs, and supports research alongside direct service delivery. Funding is concentrated on areas where policy and service delivery intersect, aiming for systemic change.

Applications are by invitation only; unsolicited approaches are not accepted.

The Trust does not fund capital-only projects, emergency appeals, or short-term work that does not align with its long-term partnership approach. It also does not support organisations that fall outside its core cause areas of criminal justice, children's social care, young people, poverty, disability, and community welfare.
