Heathcoat Trust

The Trust prioritises educational assistance, including bursaries and further education costs for children and young people from low-income families facing barriers to learning, as well as skills training and employment programmes for young adults with disabilities or experiencing youth unemployment. It also supports hardship relief addressing food insecurity and poverty for families in crisis, and grants to health institutions supporting elderly care, physical disabilities, complex health needs, and mental health services through day services, therapeutic activities, and equipment for independence. Interventions target poverty relief via direct financial aid, education through after-school support and SEND-inclusive training, and health improvements with operational funding for local clinics, respite care, and community health outreach. The Trust focuses its funding on Tiverton, Devon, and Cornwall.

Registered charities, schools, and community groups based in or serving Tiverton, Devon, and Cornwall are eligible to apply. The Trust prioritises beneficiaries including children and young people with learning disabilities, elderly residents, disabled individuals, and families in financial distress. It favours grassroots charities with proven community impact, evidence-based practices, and a commitment to longstanding local disadvantage. Unsolicited applications are welcome.

The Trust does not fund large national projects, activities unrelated to education, training, health, or poverty relief, or organisations lacking ties to local communities historically linked to industrial legacies.

The Trust provides flexible grants, including operational funding for local clinics and capacity support. It favours beneficiary-led interventions and partnerships that build life opportunities, and welcomes unsolicited applications.
