HFC Help For Children UK Ltd, formerly Hedge Funds Care UK, is a UK-registered charity founded in 2006 as part of the global Help For Children network launched in New York in 1998. It harnesses resources from the hedge fund and alternative investment industry to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect across the UK, raising funds and awareness to support evidence-based interventions for vulnerable children. Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities or CICs operating anywhere in the UK, with a preference for small to medium-sized organizations (annual incomes £100,000–£3 million) demonstrating strong track records in child protection. HFC UK does not accept unsolicited applications; it proactively invites promising entities via sector networks and expert recommendations between January and May, with final decisions at quarterly trustee meetings in March, June, September, and December.

Grants are mostly unrestricted, ranging from £15,000–£40,000 annually, with multi-year awards up to £100,000 over 2–3 years for high-impact work. Distinctively linked to the financial sector—its trustees hail from finance—HFC UK avoids frontline services, statutory activities, or non-child-abuse themes, focusing solely on scalable, trauma-alleviating solutions with regional distribution reflecting fundraising needs.
