Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and community groups, ideally small to medium-sized and grassroots organisations with strong ties to Hyde communities; there are no strict income limits but a preference for locally rooted entities. Funding is strictly invite-only, with no unsolicited applications accepted—organisations are identified via Hyde's networks and invited on a rolling basis throughout the year. Typical grants range from £5,000 to £30,000 annually, often multi-year up to three years, tailored to project scope and impact.

Distinctively, the Trust avoids generalist or national-scale funding, favouring targeted, collaborative efforts that build voluntary sector capacity and align with Hyde's community investment strategy, differentiating it through deep integration with housing operations and a commitment to place-based, measurable outcomes.
