Typically medium-to-large established organisations managing public collections, such as local museums, art galleries, and similar cultural venues, are preferred. The Trust does not fund people or communities directly, and only supports organisations with a clear connection to Lincoln's cultural infrastructure.

The Trust does not fund unrestricted revenue needs, core costs, or non-cultural projects. It also does not support people or communities directly, and does not fund outside Lincolnshire. Projects without a clear cultural, heritage, or artistic focus are not considered.
