The Foundation supports a broad spectrum of charitable activities, including the advancement of health and saving lives, disability support, arts, culture, heritage, science, and economic and community development. Grants are flexible, covering project costs, core costs, capacity building and capital. It funds work that makes a tangible community difference, across both small grassroots groups and established charities. Geographically, the Foundation prefers to support communities in England, Wales or Scotland where AlixPartners has a presence. It places particular value on locally resonant projects that lack government support, and on initiatives that connect with staff volunteering or pro bono engagement.

The Foundation supports UK-registered charities, community groups and other voluntary bodies. Beneficiaries include the general public, disabled people, children and young people, and voluntary bodies. There is no religious restriction. It prefers organisations rooted in communities in England, Wales or Scotland where AlixPartners has a presence, and it tends to work with groups that are already connected to the firm through staff volunteering or pro bono engagement. Unsolicited applications are not accepted; grants arise from trustee-selected recommendations rather than open application.

The Foundation does not support government-backed causes or projects that fall outside its broad, discretionary charitable remit. It also does not accept unsolicited applications, so groups cannot directly apply for funding.
