Jane Hodge Foundation

The Foundation supports welfare initiatives tackling homelessness, elder isolation, disability, special needs, and mental ill health; education for social mobility, including support for disadvantaged learners and schools; medical research conducted at universities, particularly into cancer, mental health, and children's diseases; children's care and hospices; and occasionally religious facilities or community cohesion activities. Beneficiaries include children, young people, older people, disabled people, homeless individuals, and the general public. Funding covers project delivery, core costs, equipment, and capital projects. Work takes place across the UK, with a strong emphasis on Wales.

Only registered charities can apply; individuals, CICs, and other non-charitable organisations are not eligible. The Foundation prioritises charities working with children, young people, older people, disabled people, homeless individuals, and the general public. There are no income thresholds or religious restrictions on grantmaking. The Foundation welcomes applications from organisations based anywhere in the UK, though it has a particular commitment to Wales.

The Foundation does not fund individuals, community interest companies (CICs), or non-registered charities. It also does not support projects that fall outside its four core areas of welfare, education, medical research, and religion. There are no religious restrictions on its grantmaking.

The Foundation offers multi-year funding for core costs, project costs, equipment, and capital projects. It values flexibility and longevity, aiming to support both established and emerging organisations through a balanced approach. Grants are made from endowment income and are typically unrestricted in terms of grant type.
