Jewish Children's Holidays Fund

The Fund supports summer holiday programmes and holiday-based activities for Jewish children, with a particular emphasis on those who are needy, underprivileged, or have disabilities. It funds residential holiday schemes, respite experiences that give families and carers a short break, inclusive playschemes, and other holiday activities that help children who might otherwise be excluded due to low income or additional needs. The aim is to reduce isolation, improve mental health, and foster social connections through accessible, enriching holiday provision. All funded work is for Jewish children and takes place across England and Wales.

Only organisations can apply, specifically registered charities and schools. The Fund prioritises grassroots Jewish organisations that deliver holiday and respite programmes for needy and underprivileged Jewish children, with a further focus on children with disabilities. Applicants should be based in England or Wales and work within the Jewish community. The Fund looks for organisations that can provide person-centred, inclusive holiday experiences, whether through residential schemes, playschemes, or family respite breaks.

The Fund does not support grants to individuals, core funding, capital projects, or ongoing services. It concentrates solely on time-limited holiday and respite interventions. Initiatives outside the Jewish community or those not focused on holiday provision are also excluded.

The Fund provides grants for time-limited holiday and respite projects, working through partner organisations that deliver the programmes directly. It accepts unsolicited applications and does not require an invitation. Grants are typically one-off or project-based, supporting specific holiday interventions rather than core costs or multi-year commitments.
