Joseph Levy Foundation

The Foundation funds work across children's and young people's health, including cystic fibrosis, autism, and chronic conditions, as well as mental health, social mobility, inclusion, learning disabilities, leadership, arts, sport, and community initiatives. It supports marginalised groups such as disabled youth, ethnic minorities, and refugees. Grants are made to national charities and grassroots organisations, primarily across the UK and occasionally to Israel's Jewish community. The Foundation also operates named funds, such as the Joseph Levy Education Fund, to further its mission.

The Foundation supports UK-registered charities and community groups, as well as individuals, working with disadvantaged young people under 35. Priority is given to organisations that directly benefit young people facing health challenges, systemic inequalities, and social barriers, including those from marginalised backgrounds such as disabled youth, ethnic minorities, and refugees. There is no religious restriction, and the Foundation welcomes applications from organisations of any size or income, with no geographic base restriction within the UK. The Foundation works by invitation only and does not accept unsolicited applications.

The Foundation does not fund work that does not focus on young people under 35, nor short-term projects that are misaligned with its long-term partnership approach. It avoids supporting non-youth-focused initiatives and prefers to invest in sustained, equitable change rather than one-off efforts.

The Foundation offers unrestricted core funding to trusted partners, favouring long-term partnerships that address root causes of disadvantage. It works by invitation, proactively reaching out to organisations aligned with its strategy. Reporting is kept flexible and low-burden, reflecting a common-sense approach. The Foundation does not run open grant rounds.
