KFC Foundation

The Foundation funds work focused on children and young people, poverty and hardship, education and skills, employment, mental health, homelessness, criminal justice, refugees and migrants, and carers. Supported activities include project delivery, core costs, equipment, training, and events. They prioritise organisations that provide safe and secure spaces, mentoring, and life skills development to help young people overcome barriers and build positive futures. The Foundation operates across the UK, supporting grassroots groups that address young people’s needs through early intervention.

Registered charities, community interest companies, unincorporated associations, and community groups can apply. The Foundation supports organisations working with young people, as well as those supporting homeless people, refugees, carers, offenders, and the unemployed. They do not fund schools or faith groups. Applicants should be grassroots organisations based in the UK, with a focus on empowering young people to fulfil their potential through safe spaces, mentoring, and life skills.

The Foundation does not fund work focused on faith, research, the environment, animals, arts and culture, heritage, sport and recreation, disability, older people, or domestic abuse. They also exclude statutory bodies, organisations without a governing document, public bodies carrying out statutory obligations, general fundraising appeals, political campaigns, promotion of religion, overseas travel, curricular activities, research, loan repayment, vehicle purchase, medical equipment, major capital projects, interventions without long-term impact, one-off events, and generic youth work not tailored to their priority groups.

The Foundation offers one-off grants to support project delivery, core costs, equipment, training, and events. They welcome unsolicited applications and do not require match funding. Grants are not multi-year. The Foundation focuses on funding work that demonstrates long-term impact and support for young people.
