Lawson Beckman Charitable Trust

The Trust funds a broad range of causes across England and Wales. These include Jewish community services such as mental health counselling, cancer care for children and young people, elderly residential care, Holocaust education, and security for synagogues. It also supports disability provision for children with learning disabilities and complex needs, youth development through after-school programmes and mentoring, homelessness prevention for care leavers aged 16-25, and employability training. Mental health initiatives addressing anxiety, depression, and trauma-informed therapy are supported, alongside poverty relief covering food insecurity and family crisis support. Further areas include refugee integration, cancer support for teenagers, arts and cultural heritage, and religious education for ethnic minorities. The Trust favours therapeutic activities, peer support groups, community-led outreach, preventative interventions, and person-centred approaches.

Registered charities and community groups based in England and Wales may apply. The Trust favours Jewish welfare organisations serving urban families, vulnerable children and youth with cancer, mental health challenges or disabilities, elderly isolated residents, refugees, and poverty-impacted communities. Unsolicited applications are accepted. The Trust does not fund individuals or non-charitable entities.

The Trust does not fund individuals, general appeals, or non-charitable entities. It also avoids supporting services that duplicate existing mainstream provision. Additionally, it does not fund organisations based outside England and Wales, as its operations are limited to those areas.

Funding is trustee-led, often informed by personal referrals. The Trust prefers unrestricted grants to grassroots and established charities, supporting core costs, project work, and capacity enhancement. It emphasises flexible, sustainable support for long-standing organisations.
