Lions International Blood Research Appeal

LIBRA supports research, diagnosis and treatment of blood cancers and disorders such as leukaemia, myeloma, sickle cell disease and thalassaemia. The Trust funds capital projects including laboratory equipment, ward developments and clinical trials, as well as research infrastructure and service improvements. All funding is directed to the Haematology Department at King’s College Hospital, which serves patients of all ages from London and south-east England.

LIBRA does not accept unsolicited applications from external organisations, charities or individuals. All funding is allocated internally to the Haematology Department at King’s College Hospital. The Trust’s ultimate beneficiaries are patients of all ages with blood disorders such as leukaemia, sickle cell disease and thalassaemia, who are treated at the hospital. LIBRA is the only UK charity dedicated exclusively to this department.

LIBRA does not fund general costs, projects outside King’s College Hospital, or research at other institutions. The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications from external organisations, charities or individuals. Funding is limited to capital projects, research infrastructure and service improvements within the Haematology Department at King’s.

All funding allocations are decided internally in collaboration with hospital clinicians. The Trust does not have open calls for applications; it works by invitation and partnership with the Haematology Department. LIBRA funds capital projects, research infrastructure and service improvements, with all money directed solely to King’s College Hospital.
