About London Legacy Development Corporation

The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) was established in April 2012 by the Mayor of London as a Mayoral Development Corporation, succeeding the Olympic Park Legacy Company. Its mission is to drive the long-term regeneration of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and surrounding east London areas, creating a dynamic metropolitan centre through sustainable neighbourhoods, affordable housing, thriving business and cultural zones, improved infrastructure, and inclusive growth. Guided by values of ambition, responsibility, excellence, and collaboration, LLDC works in partnership with the Greater London Authority, local boroughs, communities, and businesses to deliver outcomes in housing, employment, health, wellbeing, and economic equity. LLDC funds community infrastructure, neighbourhood improvements, placemaking, and sustainability through its flagship Neighbourhood Priorities Fund, supported by developer contributions.

What London Legacy Development Corporation funds

LLDC supports activities including sport, arts, gardening, and charitable projects that improve, replace, operate, or maintain facilities addressing development pressures. These initiatives benefit disadvantaged local residents through inclusive, community-building projects. The fund covers project costs for work delivered in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and neighbouring east London boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest. The focus is on community infrastructure, neighbourhood improvements, placemaking, and sustainability.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants are small to medium-sized community groups and social enterprises delivering in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and neighbouring east London boroughs. There is a preference for grassroots organisations with strong local ties. No formal income thresholds apply, but the fund is designed for organisations rooted in the local area. Beneficiaries should be disadvantaged local residents.

What London Legacy Development Corporation doesn't fund

LLDC does not fund unrestricted costs, core organisational costs, or emergency funding. Grants are for project costs only, and activities must align with the regeneration mission of community infrastructure, neighbourhood improvements, placemaking, and sustainability. Unsolicited applications are not accepted.

How they like to fund

LLDC funds project costs through periodic targeted rounds. Unsolicited applications are not accepted; organisations must wait for announced rounds to apply. The fund is supported by developer contributions and is part of the Neighbourhood Priorities Fund.
