Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund

The Fund supports projects that improve, enhance, protect or conserve the natural and built environment; promote heritage conservation; advance social welfare; or foster appreciation of the urban and natural environment. This includes environmental improvements such as tree planting, habitat creation and green space enhancements; built heritage conservation restoring historical sites and public amenities; and community cohesion initiatives like accessible playground improvements, sports equipment and public-access defibrillators. Grants are available for groups within a 10-mile radius of Manchester Airport, covering Manchester, Stockport, Trafford, Tameside, Cheshire East and Cheshire West.

Eligible organisations include community groups, registered charities, schools, faith groups and social enterprises that are not-for-profit and of a charitable nature. The Trust prioritises grassroots groups in areas affected by airport noise and activity. For building projects, the group must own the building or have at least five years remaining on the lease. Individuals are not eligible to apply.

The Fund does not support core costs, salaries, training, events, transport or general maintenance costs such as decorating and repairs to windows, roofs or electrical systems. Applications cannot be retrospective or reimburse costs for projects that have already taken place.

The Trust awards grants for capital items and equipment, focusing on one-off investments that provide lasting community benefit. Match funding is not required, and unsolicited applications are welcome.
