Masons Company Craft Fund

The Fund supports education and training for apprentices, students, trainees, and Yeoman Masons pursuing qualifications such as the Journeyman Mason’s or Master Craftsman’s Certificates. Support includes direct grants and bursaries, apprenticeships through the Cathedrals’ Workshop Fellowship and Building Crafts College, workplace placements, awards, study tours, and events promoting natural stone awareness. The focus is on stonemasonry within the UK, with an emphasis on England and Wales and a particular London focus. Beneficiaries are primarily young trainees and emerging craftsmen, with broader public gains in heritage skills sustainability.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities or academic institutions with direct stonemasonry training roles, primarily existing partners. Individuals must be enrolled in approved UK courses, often with recommendations. There is no strict income limit, but preference is given to small or medium specialist entities. The Fund does not have a religious restriction.

The Fund does not support unsolicited non-stonemasonry causes, core costs outside partner organisations, or unrelated heritage projects. It rejects generalist causes that fall outside its niche focus on stonemasonry within the historic livery tradition.
