It also supports rehabilitation and employment training for underprivileged adults, as well as overseas voluntary work or medical electives undertaken by UK-based individuals. Work can take place in the UK or overseas.

The trust accepts applications from UK registered charities and individuals who are UK residents. It prioritises smaller front-line organisations and individuals delivering direct benefits to disadvantaged groups, particularly young people, disabled people, elderly people, and those affected by poverty or homelessness. The trust welcomes applications for charitable work in the UK or overseas. There is no religious restriction, and the trust considers both organisations and individuals.

The trust does not fund animal welfare causes. This includes charities or individuals whose primary purpose involves animal care, rescue, or conservation. The trust's focus is exclusively on human welfare, particularly for disadvantaged groups such as young people, disabled individuals, elderly people, and those in poverty or homeless. Applications for projects that incidentally involve animals as part of a human welfare programme may be considered, but the trust will not support organisations whose main work is animal-related.

The trust provides grants for core costs, staff salaries, and capital works. It accepts unsolicited applications and considers them on a rolling basis. The trust's funding style is flexible, allowing applicants to request support for a range of operational and capital needs. Grants are typically modest and intended to strengthen front-line work. There is no requirement for match funding.
