Mohn Westlake Foundation

The foundation funds organisations working with children and young people in education, arts, and enrichment, alongside those advancing data transparency for public benefit. It supports both core costs and project delivery, with a preference for multi-year flexible funding. Work must take place within the United Kingdom. A specific initiative, the Mohn Westlake Arts Engagement Fund (now closed), focused on increasing arts participation and collaboration among young people in Leeds, supporting core costs, projects, events, and equipment.

UK registered charities can apply. The foundation prioritises organisations that are experts in their fields and deliver proven programmes for children and young people. Applications from individuals are not accepted. The main programme is open to charities working UK-wide, while the arts initiative was restricted to organisations based and working in Leeds Metropolitan District.

The foundation does not support campaigning or lobbying, faith-based activities or places of worship, animal welfare, or applications from individuals. The arts fund additionally excluded for-profit organisations, statutory bodies such as schools and hospitals, overseas organisations, retrospective funding, and activities promoting a political or religious point of view.

The Mohn Westlake Foundation provides multi-year, flexible funding, believing this best supports grantees to respond to changing needs. It funds both core costs and project delivery.
