Musical Boroughs Trust

The Trust funds music education initiatives such as whole-class instrumental learning, choirs, ensembles, community events, subsidised lessons, bursaries for extracurricular access, and resources for schools lacking provision—especially state schools, SEN settings, and alternative providers. Support extends to wider community participation but prioritises disadvantaged youth, delivered via strategic Hub partnerships to boost access, standards, and personal and social development. All activity is focused within the three boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster, targeting deprivation hotspots and social housing areas.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities, community groups, or academic institutions based in and benefiting the three boroughs, with a preference for local schools and grassroots providers serving vulnerable groups. No strict income thresholds apply. The Trust prioritises organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people, particularly those in areas of deprivation, social housing, or facing inequality, hardship, poor health, or unemployment. There is no religious restriction.

The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications; funding is by invitation only, with no open application process. Core or unrestricted support is not available. The Trust rejects socio-economic barriers and unsolicited bids, focusing its resources on pre-selected collaborations through strategic Hub partnerships.
