Nepal Leprosy Trust

NLT supports a broad range of programmes across southeast Nepal and Kathmandu. These include medical treatment at its flagship Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital and Services Centre, rehabilitation, psychosocial care, public health education, vocational training, self-help groups and integrated village development. The Trust backs hospital operations, outreach, awareness campaigns such as street drama, and capacity building for health workers. All services are delivered free of charge. Thematic priorities include public health advancement, poverty relief, disability support, overseas aid and youth empowerment. The Trust focuses on people affected by leprosy, disabilities, poverty, children, youth and stigmatised communities.

Eligibility is restricted to organisations operating exclusively in Nepal, especially those with expertise in health, disability or poverty alleviation. NLT prioritises its established partner network and does not accept unsolicited applications from external entities. The Trust supports people affected by leprosy, disabilities, poverty, children, youth and stigmatised communities. Partners are expected to align with government strategies and community needs, and to work collaboratively with the Trust's Nepali sister organisation.

NLT avoids unrestricted, capital or emergency grants. It does not fund statutory bodies, work outside Nepal, or unsolicited applications from external organisations. The Trust also does not provide funding to small UK-based groups, focusing exclusively on Nepal through its partner network.

NLT funds through collaborative projects with its Nepali sister organisation and established local partners. Funding is allocated internally for project delivery and core costs, with a strong emphasis on Nepali leadership and transparency. The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications; it works by invitation and partnership, maintaining a close-knit funding model.
