Newcomen Collett Educational Foundation

The Foundation supports educational and skill-building activities for young people in the London Borough of Southwark. Causes funded include education and skills, children and youth, arts and culture, and sport and recreation. Grants are available for project delivery, equipment, training, and events. Specific examples of funded activities include residential trips, music productions and equipment, sports resources, arts projects, after-school clubs and holiday clubs. For individuals, support is given towards continuing education or training beyond school-leaving age, including equipment and training costs. The Foundation also provides emergency grants to schools for purchasing school uniforms for pupils in need. All funding is limited to organisations and individuals within the London Borough of Southwark.

The Foundation accepts applications from individuals, registered charities, social enterprises, community interest companies, and schools. For grants to individuals, priority is given to those who have grown up in the Borough of Southwark and are continuing their education or training beyond school-leaving age. Organisations must be based in and deliver their work within the London Borough of Southwark. The Foundation also offers emergency school uniform grants, where schools contact the Foundation to request support for a pupil in need.

The Foundation does not fund retrospective costs, independent school fees, postgraduate degrees, overseas travel, or organisations or individuals based outside the London Borough of Southwark.

The Foundation makes one-off grants. It welcomes unsolicited applications. Each year a proportion of the available funds is set aside for emergency school uniform grants, where schools contact the Foundation to request support.
