Old Possum's Practical Trust

The Trust funds a broad spectrum of cultural activities including literary festivals, museums, libraries, colleges, artistic venues, performances, prizes, and music and arts development initiatives. It supports project costs, some core or revenue costs, and exceptional capital grants. The Trust works across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, prioritising projects that have lasting impact for future generations. Specific themes include the advancement of knowledge and appreciation of historic, architectural, literary, and cultural interests.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and community groups of any size or income level. The Trust supports organisations that work with children, young people, elderly individuals, those with disabilities, and the voluntary sector. There are no religious restrictions or income thresholds, and both grassroots groups and established institutions are welcome to apply. The Trust is open to organisations across the UK, including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The Trust does not fund personal training or education, including any courses, workshops, or qualifications. It will not support projects that have already been completed, regardless of their impact. Feasibility studies, which are preliminary investigations, are also excluded. The Trust does not make grants to individuals.
