There are no income thresholds, so small grassroots groups and larger institutions are considered equally if their work aligns with the Trust's priorities. The Trust looks for organisations supporting children and young people through education, elderly people in need of care or connection, or communities caring for heritage assets, with projects that deliver durable outcomes.

The Trust does not provide core funding, unrestricted support, or emergency relief. It also steers away from short-term programmes, preferring capital investments with lasting impact.
