Postcode Local Trust

The Trust funds core costs for organisations tackling poverty and hardship, supporting mental health, delivering arts and cultural activities, and strengthening community development. It prioritises work that benefits ethnic minority communities, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ people. Grants are available to organisations operating in the West of England, with a focus on grassroots groups that understand local needs. The Trust offers multi-year funding to help these organisations build stability and achieve lasting impact, trusting them to direct resources where they are most effective.

Registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, and community benefit societies based in the West of England can apply. The Trust does not fund companies limited by guarantee, unincorporated associations, community groups, faith groups, schools, or individuals. It particularly welcomes applications from organisations working with ethnic minority communities, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ people, and values local knowledge and community roots.

The Trust does not fund capital works, equipment, research, events, transport, feasibility studies, or emergency costs. It excludes animal welfare activities unless there is a clear human element, such as therapy animals. It does not support the promotion or practice of religion, grants to individuals or other organisations, funding allocated to reserves, retrospective costs, activities outside Great Britain, or foreign travel.

The Trust offers multi-year grants for core costs, providing stability for grassroots organisations. It does not require match funding and welcomes unsolicited applications. The Trust trusts organisations to use funding where it is needed most, reflecting its commitment to local knowledge and community-led decision-making.
