Poundland Foundation

The Foundation focuses on children's health and wellbeing, childhood disability, family support, and youth sports participation. Through its Kits 4 Kids programme it supplies sports kit and clothing to grassroots children's teams. It also enters into multi-year strategic partnerships with national charities working in children's health, disability, and family support. Themed annual grants recognise organisations excelling in specific areas of family life, and the Foundation matches its employees' fundraising for causes they care about. Its work covers England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, with a particular emphasis on deprived areas.

The Foundation supports UK-based registered charities, community interest companies, community groups, and grassroots sports clubs. It prioritises organisations working with children, young people, and disadvantaged families. Schools and social enterprises are not eligible for its open programmes. The Foundation welcomes unsolicited applications and seeks organisations with a clear, local focus that can demonstrate tangible impact on family life.

The Foundation does not fund schools, social enterprises, or organisations outside the UK. Its open programmes generally do not support core costs, salaries, capital works, project delivery, training, research, events, transport, feasibility studies, or emergency appeals. Grants are restricted to specific items such as sports kit or partnership programme costs.

The Foundation provides both multi-year strategic partnerships and one-off grants. Strategic partnerships are reserved for national charities, while the Kits 4 Kids programme offers single grants for equipment. It also operates a match-funding scheme for employee fundraising. Unrestricted funding and core costs are not available through open programmes, but the Foundation encourages unsolicited applications for its various programmes.
