Provincial Grand Charity of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire

The charity supports causes that improve health, provide youth training, assist vulnerable groups, and enhance community welfare, with a particular emphasis on poverty, elderly, and youth issues. For the Masonic family, it funds emergency aid, ongoing relief, and housing support. For non-Masonic registered charities, it backs specific local projects, core costs, or capital needs, often augmenting donations already raised by local lodges. All funded work must be delivered within Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire.

Eligible organisations are UK-registered charities and community groups operating exclusively in Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire. There are no income thresholds, but the charity shows a preference for smaller, local entities. There is no religious restriction. However, the charity does not accept unsolicited applications; proposals must come via a committed local Masonic lodge that has already made its own donation to the cause. This lodge-mediated process means that charities need to build relationships with their local lodge to be considered.

The charity does not fund individuals outside the Masonic family (Freemasons, their widows, and dependants). It excludes unregistered groups or organisations without charitable status. Initiatives that are not based in or solely for the benefit of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire are not supported, nor are national charities without a provincial designation.

The charity works exclusively through local Masonic lodges. Proposals must be submitted by a lodge that has already committed its own donation, and the charity often provides matching or additional funding to augment lodge-led giving. It supports both core costs and capital needs, and can provide one-off or ongoing support for the Masonic family. Unsolicited applications are not accepted.
