Provincial Grand Lodge of West Kent Benevolent Fund

The Fund supports general charitable purposes including welfare enhancements for children with physical disabilities and learning disabilities through sensory facilities, therapeutic activities, and hospital play schemes for young patients facing illness or trauma. They fund community wellbeing initiatives tackling social isolation, poverty relief, and hardship support for vulnerable families and individuals. Educational projects advancing inclusion for children with mental health needs, complex health needs, or special educational needs via adaptive learning environments are also supported, alongside voluntary body grants enabling day services, outreach programs, and peer support for disadvantaged residents. Funded interventions emphasise preventative care, family support, youth welfare, elderly care, and holistic services such as befriending, creative arts activities, and community-led projects promoting social inclusion. Grants are directed primarily within West Kent.

Registered charities and community groups operating in the Province of West Kent are eligible to apply. The Fund prioritises organisations serving West Kent residents, including rural communities, urban families in crisis, and Masonic-affiliated groups. They support beneficiaries such as children aged 5-19, carers, isolated elderly, people with disabilities, and those experiencing hardship or social exclusion. Unsolicited applications are welcome.

The Fund does not support core operational costs, meaning they do not cover salaries, rent, or ongoing expenses. They also exclude land or building projects, including construction, renovation, or property acquisition. Additionally, animal welfare charities are not funded, as the Fund focuses solely on human-centric causes. These exclusions ensure grants are directed towards direct charitable services for people in need.
