Quilter Foundation

The foundation supports a wide range of work addressing the root causes of disadvantage. It funds education, employability skills, social mobility programmes, financial literacy, holiday hunger relief, capacity building, core costs, direct service provision, and emergency humanitarian aid. Specific themes include food security, career development, and health and wellbeing. The foundation operates across the whole of the UK, including England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Channel Islands. It prioritises initiatives that deliver direct, evidence-based impact for vulnerable children, young people, and families, and works with partners to address child hunger and youth employment.

UK-registered charities and community groups are eligible, provided they work directly with disadvantaged children, young people, and families. The foundation prioritises organisations that demonstrate tangible, evidence-based impact on issues such as economic hardship, education barriers, health challenges, and crises like child hunger. It supports groups of all sizes, from grassroots to national, and has no religious restrictions. Unsolicited applications are not accepted; funding is by invitation or through employee nominations.

The foundation does not fund general charitable purposes that fall outside its focus on disadvantaged children, young people, and families. It also avoids supporting organisations that cannot demonstrate direct, evidence-based impact on youth resilience and opportunity. Unsolicited applications are not accepted, so organisations should not apply without an invitation.

The foundation favours multi-year collaborations that foster sustainable change. It funds both core costs and project costs, and supports capacity building. Funding is by invitation only, through strategic partnerships or the employee-led Local Community Fund via nominations. The foundation does not accept unsolicited applications. It conducts rigorous due diligence and values long-term impact over one-off grants. The blend of grassroots and strategic partnerships reflects its corporate integration.
