Rayne Foundation

The Foundation supports a range of causes including mental health and wellbeing for children and young people, quality of life for older people and carers, and opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers. It also funds community development, such as the development of holistic community centres in disadvantaged areas. The Trust supports project delivery, salaries, core costs, and capital works. It is particularly interested in outward-facing, replicable initiatives that can scale social change. Funding is available UK-wide across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with a preference for organisations working in under-supported areas.

Registered charities, social enterprises, community groups, trusts, charitable incorporated organisations, and community interest companies based in the UK are eligible to apply. The Foundation primarily supports small and medium-sized organisations. It does not fund individuals. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications and looks for organisations that can demonstrate collaborative, outward-facing work.

The Foundation does not fund statutory activities, day-to-day operational costs, one-off events, transport, or non-replicable local work. It also excludes endowments and retrospective funding. Events and transport are specifically excluded under the Standard Grant Programme.

The Rayne Foundation offers multi-year grants and supports both project costs and core costs. Match funding may be required for some grants. The Trust favours catalytic, learning-focused projects that can drive systemic change and shares learning through transparent grant-making, publishing all awards. It welcomes unsolicited applications.
