Youth Endowment Fund Charitable Trust

The Trust funds preventative and diversionary interventions aimed at reducing youth violence. Priority areas include violence prevention, youth justice, mental health access, and school re-engagement. Supported activities range from peer mentoring and virtual youth work to targeted community interventions and partnership projects. All funded work must include a robust evaluation component. Projects primarily benefit young people aged 10 to 14 who are vulnerable to crime, victims of violence, involved in anti-social behaviour, or facing structural disadvantages such as poverty. Grants support project delivery and evaluation costs, and operate across England and Wales.

Eligible applicants are UK registered charities and community interest companies (CICs) with a proven track record of delivering interventions for at-risk youth. The Trust prioritises organisations that can demonstrate capacity for rigorous evaluation and work with the target age group of 10 to 14. Beneficiaries should be young people vulnerable to violence, including victims, those involved in anti-social behaviour, or those facing structural disadvantages. Projects must operate in England and Wales. There is no religious restriction.

The Trust does not fund core or unrestricted costs, capital projects, or interventions that lack a built-in evaluation component. It also excludes activities that are not directly preventative or diversionary in nature.

The Trust funds project delivery and evaluation costs, emphasising full cost recovery and value for money. It does not accept unsolicited applications; instead, it works through targeted calls and invitations. Grants are typically for specific projects with a strong evaluation framework, and the Trust prioritises interventions that can generate evidence of impact.
