Rosemere Cancer Foundation

The Foundation funds projects that improve cancer care across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Support is available for clinical research, medical equipment, staff training, research salaries and capital works. Projects must demonstrate direct benefit to local cancer patients, innovation, and value for money. All funded work must be additional to NHS provision and aligned with local, regional and national cancer strategies. The Foundation prioritises work that fits within established cancer strategies and is of clear benefit to patients in the region.

The Foundation funds organisations working within Lancashire and South Cumbria, primarily NHS trusts and their staff. Eligible applicants include registered charities and other organisations that can demonstrate direct benefit to cancer patients in the region. Projects must be delivered by or involve staff from the NHS trusts serving the area. The Foundation prioritises work that is additional to core NHS services and aligns with cancer strategies. There is no religious restriction. Beneficiaries are cancer patients and their families across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

The Foundation does not fund animal experimentation, projects that are the proper responsibility of the NHS, or work that duplicates existing NHS provision. Research funding specifically excludes core costs and permanent staff salaries. All projects must be in line with local, regional or national cancer strategies; those outside these strategies are not supported.

The Foundation welcomes unsolicited applications for both research and standard funding. It supports a range of costs including capital works, equipment, training, research and salaries. There is no set upper limit on funding requests. The Foundation works in partnership with NHS trusts and prioritises projects that are additional to NHS provision, innovative, and aligned with cancer strategies. Funding is typically for projects that directly benefit cancer patients in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
