Excluded costs include indirect costs, overheads, administrative or staff costs, equipment purchases above a cost threshold, research costs, alcohol, and any expenditure that only benefits the project team or a single individual.

The Academy offers both one-off and multi-year grants, depending on the programme. Funding is typically provided as equity-free grants to support living costs, research, or project delivery. They welcome unsolicited applications through open calls for specific programmes.
