Saintbury Trust

The Trust funds registered charities working in the West Midlands, including Warwickshire, Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, with a particular focus on Birmingham and Worcester. It supports a broad spectrum of causes: children and youth, older people, disability, mental and physical health, poverty and hardship, homelessness, education and skills, employment, arts and heritage, environment, community development, refugees and migrants, domestic abuse, carers, and armed forces. Priority areas include prevention of poverty, education, health, arts, environment, and relief of need. The Trust funds project-specific work, core costs, and capital needs within these themes.

The Saintbury Trust only accepts applications from registered charities. It prioritises organisations it has previously supported; new applicants are considered only in exceptional circumstances. Charities must operate within the Trust's geographic focus: the West Midlands, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, Birmingham, and Worcester. The Trust supports charities working with a wide range of beneficiary groups, including children, older people, people with disabilities, and those experiencing poverty or homelessness. There is no restriction on the religious context of applicant organisations.

The Trust does not fund animal charities or applications under the Advancement of Religion. Emergency funding is also excluded. These exclusions are clearly stated in the Trust's guidelines.

The Trust funds through a relationship-based approach, prioritising charities it has previously supported. It welcomes unsolicited applications but considers new applicants only in exceptional circumstances. The Trust supports both project-specific and core costs, reflecting its flexible funding style.
