Sheffield Grammar School Exhibition Foundation

The Foundation supports educational needs broadly defined, covering traditional education, vocational training, arts, sports, music, and drama. They fund project delivery, equipment, training, travel, and core costs. All work must benefit residents of Sheffield. Specific activities include scholarships and bursaries, financial aid for books, tools, equipment, clothing, or travel linked to courses, tuition for learning challenges such as dyslexia, coaching and facilities for sports, music lessons, drama college entry, and artistic study. They also support childcare enabling parental course participation and activities addressing educational exclusion.

Grants are made to registered charities, community groups, unincorporated associations, and individuals. Beneficiaries include children, young people, and the general public. Priority is given to those in need of financial assistance. All applicants must be based in Sheffield and the work must benefit Sheffield residents. There is no religious restriction. The Foundation supports individuals of any age, from schoolchildren to adult learners, and organisations serving the local community.

The Foundation does not award grants to individuals who live outside Sheffield. It also does not support activities that fall outside its broad definition of education, including general living costs or non-educational projects. Funding is strictly for educational purposes as the Foundation interprets them, whether academic, vocational, artistic, or sporting.

The Foundation takes a flexible, needs-led approach, funding both project delivery and core costs. It supports one-off grants for equipment, training, and travel, as well as ongoing costs such as tuition and coaching. Unsolicited applications are welcomed.
