Sheldon Trust

The Trust funds community projects and special needs support in the West Midlands metropolitan counties of Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, and Wolverhampton. It also supports UK-wide youth development for individuals aged 16 to 25, particularly those not in education, employment, or training (NEET), and holiday activities for disadvantaged under-25s, with an additional focus on Greater London. Supported costs include project delivery, core costs, salaries, and equipment. The Trust's grant-making covers community development, poverty relief, disability and special needs, education and training, and holiday provision.

Eligible organisations are UK-registered charities with a modest annual income and limited unrestricted reserves. The Trust prioritises smaller grassroots charities working with disadvantaged groups, including children and young people, disabled individuals, and the elderly. Applicants should be based in or serving the West Midlands for community projects, or working with young people UK-wide for youth development and holiday activities. There is no faith requirement. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications from charities that align with its mission of relieving poverty and distress.

The Trust does not fund capital appeals for buildings or vehicles, nor does it provide unrestricted support. It focuses on project and core costs for frontline services.

Unsolicited applications are accepted, and decisions are made through a targeted grant-making process that prioritises high-impact frontline outcomes.
