Sir Bernard & Lady Schreier Foundation

The Foundation funds mental health projects across the UK. It supports project delivery costs only, rather than salaries, capital works or core costs. Priorities include empowering young people and children affected by mental illness, supporting everyone affected by mental health challenges, and helping other mental health charities prevent illness, improve early intervention and promote wellbeing. Grants go to tangible services for children, young people and the general public, with a focus on prevention and early intervention. There are no geographic restrictions within the UK.

Applicants must be registered charities based in the UK. The Foundation prioritises organisations that work directly with children, young people and the general public affected by mental illness. Charities of any size are welcome, with a focus on frontline organisations delivering tangible services. Applicants are expected to secure match funding for their projects. There are no geographic, religious or regional restrictions, and unsolicited applications are welcome.

The Foundation does not fund salaries, capital works or core costs. It also excludes political projects, sponsorship or general fundraising appeals, and any activities carried out by public bodies or organisations contracted to deliver statutory services. Applications from individuals are not accepted.

Grants are one-off and for specific project costs. The Foundation requires match funding from applicants, encouraging diversified support. It takes a partnership-driven approach, seeking to amplify the impact of specialist mental health charities through evidence-led interventions. Unsolicited applications are welcomed.
