St George's Hospital Charity

The charity funds medical research, capital refurbishments, advanced equipment, patient comfort initiatives, staff wellbeing programmes, and arts and music interventions. Their work serves the Trust's footprint in southwest London communities, including Merton and Wandsworth. A distinct research funding programme supports qualified Trust and University employees through an annual competitive call, separate from other grant streams. There are no income thresholds or religious restrictions. Projects must directly serve the Trust's footprint in Merton, Wandsworth, and southwest London.

The charity does not fund core costs or statutory NHS overlaps. Activities outside the Trust's footprint are not supported. External charities and unsolicited proposals from individuals or organisations not affiliated with the Trust are ineligible.

The charity provides grants as one-off or project-based funding, focusing on additionality rather than core costs. They welcome unsolicited approaches from eligible Trust staff and affiliated researchers. Funding is delivered in close partnership with the NHS Trust, responding to identified staff and patient needs.
