The Trust funds work that relieves poverty, hardship, and distress among older residents aged 60 and over in south Islington. It supports direct financial aid, such as small pensions and cash assistance for individuals, as well as grants to local charities and community groups that deliver welfare, social activities, food, and companionship. The focus is on combating social isolation and enabling independent living for vulnerable elderly people. The Trust does not fund capital projects or systems-change initiatives, and its work is strictly confined to the defined area of the old ecclesiastical parish of St Sepulchre and former Metropolitan Borough of Finsbury.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and community groups with a proven track record of serving people aged 60 and over in south Islington. The Trust favours small, grassroots organisations over larger or non-local entities. Individual support is available for older residents who have lived or worked in the area for at least two years, with referrals coming through trusted local partners. The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications for organisational funding, which is awarded at the trustees' discretion.

The Trust does not fund capital projects, such as building works or equipment purchases, nor does it support systems-change or strategic initiatives. It also does not fund organisations that operate outside its defined hyper-local area in south Islington or those that serve a broader population beyond older residents aged 60 and over.

The Trust provides revenue, project, and core grants to local charities and community groups, as well as direct cash assistance and small pensions for qualifying individuals. Organisational funding is trustee-discretionary and not open to unsolicited applications.
