Strand Parishes Trust

The Trust supports causes including education and training for young people under 25, and relief of poverty, disability and mental health challenges. It funds core costs, project delivery, equipment and capital works for community organisations, schools and local charity branches that assist disadvantaged residents of Westminster. Grants are made for practical interventions that benefit residents of the City of Westminster, with a focus on person-centred support that addresses immediate needs while building long-term capacity.

Applications are open to individuals under 25 resident in Westminster for education or training, and to people facing financial hardship, physical disability or mental health challenges who are resident, working or have worked in Westminster (applications via a sponsor such as Social Services or Citizens Advice). Organisations that can apply include community organisations, schools and local branches of charities that assist disadvantaged Westminster residents. Large national charities are not eligible except for independent local branches working for residents in the area of benefit.

The Trust does not fund projects that would normally be funded from statutory sources, medical research or equipment, work that has already taken place, sponsorship, fundraising, advertising, building reserves, or projects solely aimed at addressing the needs of asylum seekers. Projects without a definable benefit to disadvantaged Westminster residents are also excluded, as are those located outside the London Borough of the City of Westminster unless they clearly benefit its residents.

The Trust makes grants that may be used for core costs, project delivery, capital works, equipment or feasibility studies, and does not require match funding. It welcomes unsolicited applications from eligible organisations and individuals.
