Teaching Staff Trust

The Trust funds education financial hardship grants across the UK. They support individuals working in schools, nurseries, and related settings when unexpected events cause financial strain. Grants can be used for core costs, equipment, housing, transport, funeral expenses, and debt relief. Specific priorities include reducing the financial impact of bereavement, serious ill health or injury, relationship breakdown, loss of home, or loss of income. The Trust aims to make a difference when the unexpected happens, helping people cover essentials like bills, rent, food, travel, and home furnishings.

The Trust funds individuals only, not organisations. Eligible applicants include current and former education staff such as teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, caretakers, administrators, and nursery workers who have worked in education across the UK. The Trust prioritises those facing financial hardship due to bereavement, serious ill health or injury, relationship breakdown, loss of home, or loss of income. There is no religious restriction. Applications are accepted from individuals based in the UK.

The Trust does not fund organisations, including registered charities, CIOs, CICs, CLGs, unincorporated associations, trusts, schools, faith groups, community groups, social enterprises, or community benefit societies. They also exclude debt repayment, legal fees, fines, retrospective costs, and loans to family or friends.

The Trust provides one-off, non-repayable grants. They do not offer multi-year funding or require match funding. Their grants are designed to provide immediate individual stability, and they welcome unsolicited applications from eligible individuals.
