Terrence Higgins Trust

Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK’s largest HIV and sexual health charity established in 1982 in memory of Terry Higgins, one of the first Britons to die from AIDS, drives a mission to end new HIV cases by 2030, empower people living with HIV to thrive free from stigma, and champion sexual health as a right for all. Grounded in dignity, inclusion, equality, and lived experience, it has evolved from crisis care to public health leadership, blending advocacy, policy influence, direct services, and research to eradicate stigma and health inequalities.

Unsolicited applications are not accepted; funding targets UK-wide projects via commissions, invitations, tenders, or referrals, partnering mainly with experienced medium-to-large HIV/sexual health organisations or statutory bodies—grassroots groups may qualify for specific pilots or hardship relief. Typical grants range £10,000–£250,000 for projects; no open deadlines or standard process—monitor announcements or engage via networks. Exclusions cover non-HIV/sexual health initiatives and unrestricted core funding.
