The Fore

The Fore funds broad charitable purposes with an emphasis on scalable innovation and strong leadership. It supports work across areas including youth, disability, homelessness, mental health, ethnic minorities, environmental conservation, and the arts. Activities backed include core costs, project delivery, capital needs, capacity building, training, mentoring, outreach, advocacy, and preventative programmes. The Fund prioritises person-centred, community-led solutions such as after-school clubs, outdoor activities, befriending, and holistic resilience-building. Geographically, it operates nationwide across the UK, particularly reaching overlooked communities in urban poverty pockets, rural isolation, and ethnic enclaves.

The Fore funds registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, and community interest companies. It prioritises small charities and social enterprises with grassroots focus, exceptional leadership, and lived experience. Organisations must demonstrate ambitious innovation and potential for rapid growth in reach or structure. The Fund welcomes unsolicited applications and values equity-driven, evidence-based practice. It focuses on beneficiaries including young people, disabled individuals, homeless people, ethnic minorities, those with mental health challenges, and other underserved groups. Larger organisations lacking grassroots focus and for-profit entities are not eligible.

The Fore does not fund larger organisations that lack a grassroots focus, for-profit entities, or project-only funding without core support. It also rejects top-down interventions that do not centre community-led solutions.

The Fore provides unrestricted multi-year grants alongside capacity building, training, impact measurement, pro bono skills, and peer networks. It views grants as investments to strengthen organisations and welcomes unsolicited applications. The Fund supports both core costs and project expenses, and its approach is designed to empower small organisations to scale sustainably.
