Torbay Community Development Trust Ltd

The trust funds a wide range of causes through its Community Fund, including activities for children and young people, support for older people, health and wellbeing projects covering physical and mental health, arts and culture, environment, and general community development. Grants can cover training, equipment, events, transport, project delivery, and core costs. All funded work must take place within the Torbay Council area. Priority is given to ideas that demonstrate community engagement and co-production, and to small community-led groups with a modest turnover.

Applications are welcomed from individuals, community groups, registered charities, and social enterprises based in or working for Torbay. Branches of national or regional organisations and sole traders are not eligible. Priority is given to individuals or new groups with a good idea that benefits the wider community and shows community engagement and co-production. Small community-led groups and local organisations with a modest turnover are particularly encouraged to apply. Groups that have not received a Community Fund grant within the past 12 months are also prioritised. Larger organisations can apply if they can demonstrate a clear community need.

The Community Fund does not support salaries, branches of national or regional organisations, or sole traders. Previous successful applicants cannot apply for the same or a similar project that was previously funded. Groups or organisations with outstanding feedback from previous awards are also unable to apply. Political or religious promotional activities are not funded.
