Unite Foundation

The Foundation supports causes related to youth, education, and homelessness by funding a scholarship that provides rent-free, year-round university accommodation for care-experienced and estranged young people. The scholarship covers up to three years of accommodation at over 30 partner universities in England and Scotland, including major institutions such as UCL, King's College London, University of Edinburgh, and University of Sheffield. The programme aims to address housing insecurity, isolation, and homelessness risk by offering a stable base for degree completion. It also fosters belonging through the 'All of Us' peer community and wraparound support delivered by partner institutions.

The scholarship is available to individual care leavers, Scottish care-experienced youth, and formally estranged students under 25 who hold UK home fee-status and are pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Applicants must be studying at a partner university in England or Scotland and require university approval for their application. The Foundation prioritises young people who have experience of care or estrangement from their family, as verified by Student Finance. It does not accept applications from organisations or charities.

The Foundation does not fund organisations, charities, postgraduate study, second degrees, or students attending non-partner universities. Unsolicited organisational applications are not accepted. The scholarship is strictly for eligible individuals meeting the specific criteria outlined above.

The Foundation provides funding through a single scholarship programme offering multi-year, rent-free accommodation.
