United Charities of Cambridge

The Trust prioritises poverty relief, educational advancement for children and youth, and social welfare for vulnerable groups including the elderly, those in acute need, and Cambridge's marginalised communities. Funded activities include housing provision through almshouses, direct individual aid, project grants to grassroots organisations, and support for community-level interventions tackling hardship, education, and opportunity gaps. All funding is restricted to the City of Cambridge and its immediate environs. The Trust supports work that addresses material hardship, educational disadvantage, and social welfare needs within this local area.

Eligible applicants are strictly UK-registered charities and small to medium local voluntary groups embedded in Cambridge. The Trust identifies potential grantees through internal networks or referrals; unsolicited applications are not accepted. Organisations should be rooted in the local community and share the Trust's mission of alleviating poverty and advancing education. There is no religious restriction on applicants. The Trust prioritises groups serving the elderly, those in acute need, and marginalised communities within Cambridge.

The Trust does not fund activities outside Cambridge's boundaries, work that falls beyond poverty relief or education, or large national entities. It also does not accept unsolicited applications, so organisations not already known to the Trust through its networks or referrals are unlikely to receive support.
