UnLtd

UnLtd funds social entrepreneurs addressing a wide range of social and environmental challenges across the United Kingdom. Supported activities include project delivery, core costs, equipment, training, events, transport, and feasibility work. For Scaling Up Awards, salaries are also covered. The organisation values lived experience and prioritises ideas where the applicant has a deep understanding of the challenges they want to tackle. Funding is available for work that takes place anywhere in the UK, and applicants must be based in the UK.

UnLtd awards are open to individuals – social entrepreneurs – based anywhere in the United Kingdom. They particularly welcome applicants with lived experience of the issues they aim to address. There is no restriction on the type of organisation the individual may be setting up, but the funding is given to the individual, not an organisation. UnLtd supports both early-stage ideas through the Starting Up Award and more established ventures through the Scaling Up Award.

UnLtd does not fund political or religious campaigning, activities against the law or public policy, projects that are primarily about raising awareness, or ventures where the bulk of the work is delivered by paid third parties. They also exclude capital works, vehicles, loans, contingency, formal qualifications, overseas travel, and costs incurred before approval. For Starting Up Awards, salaries are not covered, though they are eligible under Scaling Up Awards.

UnLtd provides one-off grants that must be spent within 12 months of approval. Funding can be used for a mix of project delivery and core costs. No match funding is required. UnLtd welcomes unsolicited applications from individuals across the UK.
