Barratt Developments PLC Charitable Foundation

The Foundation supports causes related to youth, education, and poverty alleviation. Through its Grants Programme, it funds multi-year partnerships with charities working at a national or strategic level, focusing on children and young people. The Community Fund provides one-off donations to small, local charities operating within a single county or local area, benefiting the general public as well as children and young people. All funded work must take place in the UK.

The Foundation funds registered charities only. For the Community Fund, eligible organisations must be registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales or the Scottish Charity Regulator. Charities that operate at a regional or national level (across two or more counties) are not eligible for the Community Fund. The main Grants Programme is not open to applications; only pre-selected charities can apply. Charities that have not submitted their Annual Report and Accounts on time are excluded from the Community Fund.

The Foundation does not accept unsolicited applications for its main Grants Programme. The Community Fund excludes charities operating at a regional or national level, as well as those that have not submitted their Annual Report and Accounts on time. Organisations that are not registered charities, such as community interest companies, social enterprises, community groups, individuals, and faith groups, are ineligible for the Community Fund.

The Foundation offers two funding types: multi-year grants through its invitation-only Grants Programme, and one-off donations through its rolling Community Fund. The Community Fund welcomes unsolicited approaches. The Foundation funds core costs and prioritises partnerships that align with its mission to support communities where the company builds.
