Duke of Cornwall's Charitable Foundation

The Foundation supports a broad range of thematic priorities, including youth opportunities for disadvantaged young people aged 5-19 facing barriers such as caring responsibilities or poverty, with interventions like after-school activities, skills development, and mentoring. It funds carer support and respite care for young carers and families managing complex health needs or disabilities, as well as mental health initiatives such as counselling and peer support groups. Other areas include community health projects, poverty relief through community development programmes addressing food insecurity and social isolation, arts, culture, and heritage protection, environmental conservation and restoration, and science-based initiatives. The Foundation favours preventative, person-centred models like outreach, befriending, and inclusive recreational activities. Its geographic remit covers England and Wales, with a priority on Cornwall and a focus on rural and coastal communities.

Registered charities and community groups are eligible to apply. The Foundation prioritises voluntary organisations that demonstrate clear, sustainable outcomes and evidence-based, community-led practices. Beneficiaries include children with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, ethnic minorities, and isolated elderly people, as well as young carers and families in need. The Foundation welcomes unsolicited applications and supports grassroots bodies that address root causes of disadvantage, with a preference for those rooted in local communities, particularly in Cornwall and other rural and coastal areas of England and Wales.

The Foundation does not fund individuals, and it avoids standalone capital builds or unrestricted support. It also tends to avoid duplicative services, preferring projects that offer clear, sustainable outcomes over those that replicate existing provision.
