Essex Community Foundation

Essex Community Foundation, established in 1996, is an independent charitable foundation dedicated to enhancing quality of life for Essex residents by mobilizing local philanthropy, strengthening the voluntary sector, and channeling resources to grassroots needs. Typical grants range from £5,000 to £7,000 for projects, core costs, limited capital, capacity building, or training via unrestricted or restricted funds. Unsolicited applications are accepted year-round through a simple online form (with eligibility quiz and pre-application advice), with decisions within two months—check website for specific fund deadlines like 1 December or 21 January. Exclusions include individuals, deficit funding, political campaigning, and religious activities not benefiting the wider public.
