This is alongside occasional poverty relief grants for retired Ofrex employees and families. Only individuals who are medical students enrolled at one of four nominated UK medical schools—University College London, Nottingham, Cambridge, or Birmingham—are eligible. The foundation supports gifted students with exceptional potential, prioritising future leaders. Applications are invite-only via the nominated medical schools' internal processes; unsolicited submissions from individuals or organisations are not considered. There is no religious restriction.

The foundation does not fund organisations or provide income-linked support beyond enrollment at the specified schools. Unsolicited applications from individuals or charities outside the nominated medical schools are not considered.

The foundation makes competitive merit-based awards and targeted hardship grants, typically for medical education-related costs like exam fees, research, placements, or professional development.
