Harrow Together

Harrow Together supports diverse grassroots initiatives across the London Borough of Harrow. This includes food security projects such as redistribution programmes, community kitchens, and food banks serving families in poverty; youth services including after-school clubs, mentoring, employability training, and youth work for at-risk children and young people aged 5-25; health and wellbeing projects offering mental health counselling, peer support groups, and therapeutic activities for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, isolation, or complex health needs; environmental action promoting sustainability and green spaces; community development fostering social cohesion through outreach, befriending, creative arts, sports, and volunteer-led activities; and capacity building through training, staffing, equipment, and overheads for small charities. The consortium prioritises collaborative partnerships among Harrow's grassroots organisations serving vulnerable residents such as families in crisis, isolated elderly, young people with mental health challenges, and communities facing food poverty or social isolation.

Harrow Together funds organisations only, including registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies, social enterprises, and community groups. They prioritise grassroots organisations based in or serving the London Borough of Harrow. The consortium focuses on small charities and social enterprises that deliver preventative, person-centred services to disadvantaged residents, including carers, ethnic minorities, and those in deprivation. Beneficiary groups include families in crisis, isolated elderly, young people with mental health challenges, and communities facing food poverty or social isolation. There is no religious restriction.

Harrow Together excludes capital projects such as building purchases. They do not fund individuals or organisations based outside the London Borough of Harrow. Projects that are not led by local grassroots organisations are also not supported.

Harrow Together funds through a collaborative consortium model, pooling resources from contracts and community lottery funds. They emphasise full cost recovery for sustainable operations, supporting core costs such as training, staffing, equipment, and overheads. The consortium welcomes unsolicited applications and prioritises innovation, lived experience leadership, and evidence-based community empowerment.
